God's Chosen Academy of Dance
Meet Our Choreogrpaher
Mrs. Quinetta Latham, known to many as “Queen,” began her journey as a dancer at an early age with the Louisiana Interdenominational Mass Choir‘s dance ministry. Under the leadership of her gifted instructor, Ms. Keisha Anderson, her desire to praise and worship God through dance grew quickly. Her passion for dance was seen in many, so in 2004 she founded Abundantly Blessed. The ministry focused on presenting other young people with the same passion and opportunity to witness to lost souls across the state.
With a willingness to take her passion to the next level, Quinetta joined the LadyCubs dance team at Southeastern Louisiana University. Quinetta and a fellow dance member decided together that they were going to sign up for auditions as a dancer in a gospel musical. Quinetta nailed the audition and was awarded the opportunity to perform as an actress and a dancer in the gospel broadway musical “Between Floors” written and directed by Edward Barnes Jr.
Quinetta has blazed the scene for many years setting ministries on fire under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. She has used her spiritual gift to choreograph dances for many local churches and ministries. Some of these include New Hope, St. James, Ebenezer and Star Hill Baptist Churches, as well as God’s Anointed and Appointed and Divine Instruments of Praise. Quinetta also choreographed an entire production for Park Elementary that was performed at Walt Disney World. The production featured facts and scenes about the “Red Stick”, but most importantly it highlighted elementary students praising and worshiping Christ.
The bible says “Faith without works is dead.” So, with $300.00 and a burning passion for dance, Quinetta began her journey to open a studio, launching God’s Chosen Dance Camp in July 2009. The end of the summer camp finale ended with 23 students on fire for Christ, 150 plus people in attendance and standing room only. There was no doubt in her mind that God was glorified and ready to make her vision a reality. Parents, family, friends, and supporters have encouraged her to pursue her dream, and she has. Partnering with her long time best friend, Tinicia Turner, Quinetta’s dream came true.
Mrs. Latham has recently moved from the Capital City of Baton Rouge and now resides in Shreveport, Louisiana. After much thought and support from her new community, she has recently launched two new programs for the Shreveport and Bossier communities, "Dancing Tots" and the "Mobile Dance Program." The response from the cities of Shreveport and Bossier has been phenomenal and she is looking forward to continuing to "inspire today's young people, to be leaders of tommorrow."
Embrace. Empower. Expose.
